One of the things I love about being a photographer who works for myself is that I don’t always have to be paid in cash! I do barters on Craigslist all the time, and one of my favorite barters every year is barting sessions for Broncos tickets as my husband and I are really big fans. I met Mr. I and his parents last weekend, had a great session with a little one who had SO many wonderful expressions, and then the next day, I got to watch the Broncos beat the Steelers. Win-win all around, and I LOVED the shots I got of Mr. I. He was so sweet!

Senior Pride!

Senior sessions are SO much fun. I’ve been loving all that I’ve done this summer. Here’s yet another senior from my high school – I love hearing them talk about how things have changed, and who their favorite teachers are! It’s fun to go back to 2004 and relive my senior year with them. Congrats M, and have an awesome year!

Vacation Notice

My Second Family

I’ve always thought it is much harder to take pictures of kids you know as opposed to kids you are a stranger too. Seeing kids once a year, or even once every few months isn’t a big deal. Seeing kids on a daily basis and then trying to get them to do what you want it definitely more complicated in my eyes. Meet the Monks. They are my second family. I have been their nanny for nearly two years and spend twice a week with their kids. They don’t listen to me on a normal basis, let alone when I’m trying to actually get them to cooperate (I’m mostly kidding, they are good, well-behaved kids!). It was a challenging session for me though, but we had fun and came away with some cute shots. And the kids had a blast climbing on every rock they could find and giving me their cheesiest smiles ever. And to boot, we even found a frog!

Summer always equals senior portraits. Seniors are so much fun to do – I just love it! This is S! Technically, I met S when she was 6. Her Mom was my drama teacher in middle school and even directed a musical I was in (no, I do not have musical talent…Mrs. A must have just liked me!) S used to come to some rehersals and run around with us while we waited for our turn on stage. It was fun getting to see her 11 years later – after I’ve already figured out what direction my life is going and she’s about to begin that process. Congrats on your senior year. Live it up!

I had the pleasure of meeting The L Family Saturday afternoon. We managed to get in a great session just before the rain hit, and had such a fun time at Meridian Park. I love doing sessions with pets – they always liven things up and provide plenty of laughs. Enjoy!
